Phone Calls and Tears

by requiem   Dec 30, 2006

Phone calls and tears
And all the thing that I fear
Words never spoken
And times never had
Hold me no more
And let the earth be your bed
The angels want you tonight

Let all the pain soak into the sheets
Lie back and disappear
Sleep, it's all you do
While I cry right here
I'll be here if you wake up
I'll be here

Remember when this was your job?
Forget the pain but not me?
These walls only hold your body
Let this bed be your grave
The world will keep turning
Pretend I'm not crying
I'll be here if you wake up
If... if you wake up

If you don't wake up
My whole world will sleep with you
I'll leave this room
And nothing will be the same.

It sounds odd, saying that a poem about this kind of event is absolutly wonderful, but i think it is. i too, have lost, and as time goes on the pain seems to dull. its perfect, and i love it, keep writing!

I don't know whether to be happy that I made you cry with my poem, or feel bad because my poem made you cry. I have another one, about the same incident sorta, but from 6 years on and about moving on. I'll post it up later.

This is a really good poem. It made me cry there is so much feeling in it. I know how you feel. Just be strong.
