If I Could

by requiem   Jan 1, 2007

If I could hear all that I want to hear;
My curiosity would still be there.

If I could feel all that I want to feel;
I probably would not be a virgin.

If I could touch all that I want to touch;
My hands would be dirty.

If I could taste all that I want to taste;
I would not be hungry.

If I could see all that I want to see;
I would beg to be blind.

If I could say all that I want to say;
Too many hearts would be broken.

If I could learn all that I want to learn;
I would be very educated indeed.

If I could hear all that I want to hear;
I would know many secrets.

If I could feel all that I want to feel;
I would get sick of being touched.

If I could touch all that I want to touch;
I would probably never be the same again.

If I could taste all that I want to taste;
I would have many favourite foods.

If I could see all that I want to see;
I would probably see memories of things.

If I could say all that I want to say;
I would never have to lie.

If I could be hated by everything that I hate;
There would not be much love in my world.

If I could be loved by everything that I love;
I would be happy.

And if I could do all that I want to do;
My life will not have been wasted.
