Discrimination

***I wrote this at 2:00am last night, and I was really tired and my thoughts were jumbled... so I don't know how good this poem is. Oh well.***

Overwhelming images, take another breath
Emotions overcome you, take another step
Keep on moving, moving towards your death
Make sure the rope is tight, tight around your neck

You wish you had said things, things you never said
You'll never get to say them, once you are dead
"Falsely Accused" is the thought in your head
It was just a magic spell, cast around your bed

Misunderstood, in so many ways
You never meant any harm, never any pain
Feeling so unwanted, looked upon with shame
No one wants to see your face, or to know your name

"She's a Witch!" people shout, how little do they know
Wicca is an art of balance, as above- so below
Witches are at peace with nature, feel the earth and hear wind blow
A couple candles, a magic rhyme, and the energies start to flow

People yell from the crowd "Hanging won't kill her! She must be burned at the stake!"
Everyone agrees, so changed is your fate
You still don't understand why your life they will take
Why will they destroy what they did not create?

You are tied to the cross, as you prepare for the end
Once you're on the other side, a message you will send
To help people understand how some don't follow trends
And maybe catholics & pagans can somehow be friends

But it is what it is, and you'll be what you'll be
You will die tonight, and your soul will be set free
You are not afraid, for you understand and see
Everyone gets what they deserve, from the sacred Rule of Three
