I don't think you understand

Always walking forward but constantly looking behind
They say that accepting the past comes with time
Well I don't care if my watch breaks, not enough time will ever pass
I've been scarred too many times, the hurt will stay and last
No one will ever know or feel what I've been through
But they'll always converse like they really know you
Now that might not seem that bad to you but it don't fly with me
The only ones who truly care are my friends and family
They're the people who I never have to second guess, I know they got my back
If I didn't have them standing by me, I think I'd probably snap
Well now I'm alone, my back is bare
I stand solo, no one else is there
Don't know what I did wrong
Why they'd just up and leave
But I do know this, in me I must believe
Yeah, it's nice to have friends, but none of them are vital
I know now I don't need their support for my survival
I rely on myself, and that's how it should be
I'm not gonna let losing love become my tragedy
I have my independence, respect, love and that's all I got
