Eyes

by The man with the broken smile   Jan 3, 2007

As i rest beneath a tree
i feel that eyes are following me
the eyes of people everywhere
eyes that burn, pierce, hate and stare
i see the eyes but all i see
are eyes, not people just like me
eyes just floating in the air
eyes that look with crooked stares
i beg the eyes to go away
but it looks like theyre here to stay
i raise my arms and try to hit
the eyes but they just wouldnt quit
these eyes positioned in a ring
begone with you a cursed things
i close my eyes and say a prayer
i take a whiff of the cold autumn air
i open my eyes but all i see

was me resting beneath a tree

this is the first poem i ever wrote so please lots of comments and votes
thank you

I like the idea of the eyes watching you, and the ending was a good fit for the rest of the poem. Very good for your first poem.
