I Let this letter go...

by RunningOnEmpty   Jan 4, 2007

Writing letters with this pen
letters i will never send
scrawled on paper that doesn't suit
a letter that i'd send to you

with hearts and tears, and knives and wrists
i know that you will not see this
i may write what i want, and tell you what's in me
knowing so much that you never will see

i don't need any stamps
i don't need the post office
cause you're never gonna know i wrote this

and even poems i write on slips
of paper that you know i have
i know you'll never know
i wrote this letter behind your back

this letter i will never send
is written with my blood
and here, in the post office of my heart
i let this letter go
