Then

by Christina McDowell   Jan 4, 2007

It seems everything has changed
What happened to our relationship
Everything is rearranged
As I'm left to rip

I like to think back
To remember the past
To run the track
Hoping this love will last

You used to act different
You'd be the one that would call
Now you talk without consent
And just let me fall

Now I'm always the one has to call you
You only want to talk at night
During the day, what do you do?
All we do is fight

You were so loving then
Always so caring
But it came to an end
You are so daring

They're nothing but memories now
It's not like I ever mattered
You used me as a trial
My heart has now shattered

I can't help thinking about back then
How everything was so great
It was nice the ways things had been
This painful change must been fate

It's so hard to get up
And pick up my feet
In my throat, there's a lump
Cuz I've lost my heartbeat

It's so hard to breathe
It's so hard to see
I'm left here to grieve
It doesn't matter where I'll be

It was then when we were happy
When we were truly in love
Now you're just so snappy
As you step on me like a rug

I hope you call soon
So I don't have to continue feeling this pain
My mind is in ruins
Hoping for the rain

Just waiting for tonight
Truly waiting for your call
Please don't fight
So I don't continue to fall....
