A Poem For Amber

by Regina   Jan 4, 2007

A life with no meaning
As I trudged through each day
Back and forth, to and fro
traveling on my way

Living life carelessly, not
really understanding why.
Living each moment afraid,
this next turn, I could die.

Why am I even here?
And what am I to do?
Wanting for direction and some
divine intervention too.

I felt rejected, and abandoned
wading life's troubles alone.
I couldn't ask the Lord
for help, because I was so wrong.

He looked upon me with
compassion, even though I couldn't see
As he allowed a child to
Be placed within a special part of me

As she was born we called her
Amber, so beautiful and new.
She looked at me with those
perfect eyes, blinking baby blue.

Life began to have meaning
and purpose that rang out.
No more self absorbed
to much to think about.

My little girl was active
with energy to spare.
She kept me on my toes
with lots of time to share.

Looking back I'm so thankful
what the Lord brought my way.
He knew just what to add to
this life, that was in total disarray
