Haunted Eyes

by Paige Whalen   Jan 5, 2007

Wild winds rake the land
With a long fingernailed hand
Howling in the sky
Passing time on by

I look out with huanted eyes
Upon the barren earth
No cloud in the skies
Never again to sit apon the hearth

Mountains in the distance
Forming a protective wall
Around me in an instant
Never answering anyone's call

Calling me back to the world
Looking at them through haunted eyes
Chasing the dust that whirls
Crying to the open skies
