Hit the Groud Running

by Olivia   Jan 6, 2007

I try to be real
I want to be true
I want to feel
The way I used to

I dont want to cry
Havent smiled in so long
Everytime I try
It just feels so wrong

You broke me
Ruined me whole
What I used to be
You stole

I gave away a part of myself
Never meant for you to keep it
But there it sits on your shelf
Though it doesnt really fit

So hard to look you in the eyes
So hard to walk on by
You took me away
And led me astray

I was thrown from a moving car
Hit the ground running
My body one big scar

No longer stunning.

You have a unique style in your poetry and I like that. But sometimes your flow and even your rhyme scheme itself jumps and it ocnfuses the reader and gets us focused on the structure of the poem instead of it's message. So I would suggest working on that, but overall, I really do enjoy your poetry.
