Left Behind.

"That's enough" she sighed,
and dried her eyes.
The weight of her heavy heart
pressing down on her lungs.
Unable to grasp a clear idea
of L O V E
and P E R F E C T I O N.
She's been used, oh so many times,
like a drug - only good for a little while.
Then they get bored and cast her aside
like an old rag doll,
worn and torn, battered and bruised.
Only she can't forget them like they do,
so easily, to her.
Imprints of their cold kisses leave lasting scars across her pale skin,
invisible to all but not hidden from her eyes,
her soul.
There was one she longed for,
her whole body ached for him.
Can she trust them any more?
Should she risk it all again?
So in love it hurt, but he didn't feel the same.
The good ones never do, obviously.
"I give in" she said, and it was left at that - F O R E V E R.
