This Path I'm On

There are always paths in life.
Ones, which you can follow.
Different results come about,
Depending on which one you choose.

It may not seem like much –
Choosing one damn path.
But please believe me on this.
Once you choose a certain one, you can never go back.

Don’t take a wrong turn,
When you hit that fork in the road.
Don’t try taking any short cuts,
Because life will cut you short as well.

Choose your path carefully,
For I did not.
The path I chose
Is winding me into a living hell.

So much pain and angst;
Pent up rage and sorrow.
There is no one to blame except me.
For choosing this path I’m on.
