Here I stand on haunted ground;
I feel the pulse of a thousand screaming voices,
And I watch as the charred woodland crack with vibrations of the sounds.
I find myself walking this once so familiar road
As my body begins to resonate and the fear from within grows.
My home burning ashes as dark as the evening air,
Afraid I stand, but I know that I must go inside there.
I walk inside and see
My family sitting at the table eating dinner contently.
Where am I.. It seems so familiar to me?
I take small steps and ascend the stairs,
As the monolithic voices turn to a bloody roar.
As I continue I know what is to come
Upstairs afraid of the monsters, and what the walls will become.
They are nice my little sister says.
I look down to see that her wrists are she is already dead
Her mouth opens with a silent scream, I run down afraid
And find parents, they have set themselves ablaze.
I scramble to find my way out the door
I look up to see the town is in a fiery roar.
Now I am old and I have brought myself back here,
I still feel the presence of the souls near.
I look to see my younger self on the ceiling wall
Praying to God, frightened and curled in a ball.
My eyes turn blue with the reflections of the fallen ones
As they rise from the hollow ground.
