Like Never Before

by Bill Turner   Jan 9, 2007

There is warmth in my heart where ice had formed
Once again beating with life, love and passion
The spring time of my love blooms with your touch
Meadows of flowers in bloom, thrusting towards the sky
I am left to sit and wonder why...

How can someone as lovely as you let me into your heart...
That first kiss, the look in your eyes, it was too much
Each day I am blessed to be loved by you
Eternally in debt for the life and love that you share
Never understanding how you can love, much less care

Rewards are allegedly given in proportion to deeds
I should be forever wrestling demons in the dark
Undeserving of your love and life you give me
Forever lost in your arms...your light...your love
Unable to reconcile why you were sent from above

Afraid of the darkness that would consume me
Should my love someday not be enough for you...
Left to wander broken and forever alone
Hold me when the shadow is at the door
In your arms, love me like never before...

This poem really touches the heart. Excellent job!
Afraid of the darkness that would consume me
Should my love someday not be enough for you...
Left to wander broken and forever alone
Hold me when the shadow is at the door
In your arms, love me like never before...
This part touched me the most. It is so true when you are without the one you love darkness does consume.
