How Do You Tell A Boy....

How do you tell a boy that his mother doesn't care
That his father left his family because he hated them

How do you tell a boy that he's going to die
That his mother gave him a terminal illness
Because she loves her cigarettes more then she loves him
How do you tell a young boy that his mother is killing him
You can see in his eyes that he would do anything for her
How do you tell him she'd do nothing for him?

How do you tell a young boy that his father didn't want him
That his mother knows that he's dying but doesn't care
How do you tell him that soon the light will be fading from his eyes

How do you tell a young boy his parents don't care
When you can tell they mean the world to him
Though his father left and his mother ignores him

They may as well write murder on his cause of death
His parents are killing him, and they don't care.
