One Day(Hold On Be Strong)

by The Nameless Poet   Jan 12, 2007

Another day, still living, all by my self/
I been going threw a lot and been praying for some help/
I feel the fire burning deep inside my chest/
Trying to paint a perfect vision of a life that’s blessed/
Confused about why I’m not happy, how come I can’t be/
I see so many others living their dreams, but what about me/
And what about all of the other have-knots in this crazy world/
Newborn boys and girls, poverty stricken countries living so cold/
Praying to the lord just like me and still unable to grow/
With the rest of the world, cause were not given the same opportunities/
But were guaranteed a short life expectancy, or a life in the penitentiary/
And while I'm in the hood they building condos every week/
Shit, it hurts to live like this and see that it's nice across the street/
I realize my life is not promised, but what about those of tomorrow/
Give me the strength to help make this a better place free of sorrow/
I love all those like me and all those who differentiate they just don’t understand/
Its not their fault it’s the systems fault, one day we’ll all see that this is “Our” land/
Not one separate race, every race, no matter what color no matter, Ur background/
No matter Ur wealth, no matter your status in society, were all bound/
By that which makes us human, we all have hearts, and the will to love/
Hopefully we’ll choose to use them and embrace all those under the clouds above/
I wish I could see better days where we could live in peace and harmony/
But all I see as of yet is low class, middle class, and high-class policies/
Separated by our place in society/
So many varieties of people but were judged by our outer person/
Not by who we are inside, living in a world driven by lies, and greedy persons/
Who don’t care about the misery they create/
Only about the profits that they make/
When will the pain stop, when will eyes open, and realizations occur/
I’m not sure, but in time the doors of injustice and inequality begin closing and answers come no more living unsure/ of what to do or who you are, or who you’re destined to be/
Cause we’ll all be living equally given the same opportunities/
One day that will be the days that our children will live/
United hand in hand fighting for the better part of life for their kids/
Life is unpredictable so when this will happen I cannot see/
One day it will come, so live free, and help erase all the negativity/
We all deal losses but still we rise so keep your head up, and make your mind strong/
It's a struggle every day but you just got to hold on/
