The Fear In My Eyes

by Christina McDowell   Jan 12, 2007

I supposed have pretty eyes
They're extremely dark
That have gone through many cries
Scarred with an invisible mark

Within, they're pitch black
With bright glare and shine
That make me remember back
They'll heal and be fine

They just barely help me get by
To see this sad, painful world
The tears come from my eyes
They can read each sorrowful word

You can see the fear in my eyes
How it breaks my heart
It can see all those lies
And make me fall apart

That fear longs to reach out
To cry and beg
My eyes just see doubt
I'm pullin' you back by your leg

Get lost in my eyes
Please hold my hand
I hope this fears dies
I want to disband

The fear in my eyes
Is the darkness within
It creates all those cries
And erases all those cries
And erases my grins

Hold me tight
Tell the right thing
Let me see the light
Give me what love brings

Show me the way
Help me the out
Tell me what to say
So my eyes won't see doubt

The fear in my eyes
Is what causes all this confusion
After all these tries
This pain isn't amusing

The fear came from the break
When I fell apart
When I realized this love was fake
And shattered my heart

Get me out
Take out the fear
Blind the doubt
And stop my tears...
