Covering The Heart

A lightened facade,
Covering a darkened heart,
A mask aglow,
Over a world apart.
Soul inside,
Bleeding evermore,
Dripping onto
A heart of cold.
Burning desire,
The body's horror,
Killing from the inside,
A personal reign of terror.
Intense pain,
Destroying the prize,
Acidic rain,
Falling from the eyes.
From the outside,
Nothing is seen,
A laughing face,
Beauty pristine.
But deep inside,
A lover cries,
At it can't be seen,
'Till you gaze in their eyes.
