My Dream (In Real Life)

by Corinne   Jan 14, 2007

Last night I dreamt
You and your ex
Were waiting to go on
Backstage
You and she
Were in a comedy

I had not seen you
In such a long time

And there she was
Thin, stylish, sexy
Not at all as she is
In real life
Talking a mile a minute
To no one

I know
I certainly wasn't listening

And there you were
Messy hair, dirty clothes - disheveled
Not at all as you are
In real life
Talking, smiling, joking
With me
A mile a minute

And I hung upon
Your every word

She may seem to have it all
In real life
And you may have some problems
In real life
But nothing can tarnish
My love for you
Dear friend

And when we embraced
As close friends do
Who have not seen
Each other
In such a long time,
I stroked the back of your head
And then you laid it
Upon my shoulder

And I was happy
