A million things worse***

by sarah   Jan 16, 2007

There's a million things worse...
Than not being able to sleep,
Much more painful than your failures,
Worse than the regrets you can see.
I know losing your friends is tough,
And letting a loved one free - so hard.

Still, there's a million things worse...
Than knowing you're alone or a burden to the world,
Feeling your heart start to crack,
And admitting to yourself that you're not unbreakable at all.

Still, there's a million things worse
Than seeing your mother cry,
Seeing your father at witts end,
And being helpless - hopeless.
There's a million things worse...
Than not being noticed whilst standing in a crowd,
Worse than knowing your insignificance,
Failing - trying to forget about it,
Whilst being ridiculed, by many, as they point it out.

Still, there's a million things worse,
Than not being able to sleep,
But when you turn out the light,
There's nothing worse than lying awake,
Eyes wide open in the emptyness,
While all those little niggles you had - nightmares
Hurl towards you - fast, fighting, fears.
