Kisses for Moonbeams

by Laura Sauer   Jan 17, 2007

Walking Sunday on my nature adventure
Stumbling across a never ending field,
Full of moonbeams twisting in delight.
I frolic through the flowers in hyper happiness
Only to trip and fall with a rush and thump!
I swear itâ??s a boulder! But only a rock and golden hook.
It slices my knee wide open which now splurges blood.
The field pities me as I lie in agony.
Flowers clear a path for me to run but blood leaves me too fast.
Moonbeams lift and pass me on with tickling petals,
Carrying me quickly to my destination.
A field that seems to never end is gone in seconds!
I reach my secret garden and kiss the flowers in gratitude.
I step slow to the center of the garden with my prize in eye,
A band-aid hung high and out of reach.
I sit to ponder my course of action,
Only to find the vines have stolen my obsession.
Moonbeams come to my rescue; tickle the vines, to death of laughter.
They gently place the band-aid on my withering body.
With smiles and songs; they heal me completely.
I kiss each and every moonbeam,
For they have saved my life and I will love them all forever.
