Most of all, we;re at war with ourselves

by ENTROPY   Jan 17, 2007

We have grown up in a place the considers poverty disgusting.
where brand names and logos control what we wear.
where we expect to have everything we need and want.
where if we dont get our way, we post our opinions on the backs of cars
and on doors of supermarkets.
where most of us think highly of ourselves and
look down on others.
where acceptance is scarce and honesty is a hard attribute to find.
where we love to conform and when expressing individuality we get
sent out to re-morph ourselves until we turn out like everyone else.
where everyone walks, talks, and thinks the same, if you dont you are mocked.
where different opinions are disregarded like bad resumes.
where the rich and the poor do not converse. w
here people no longer make eye contact and smile.
where friendly \'hello\'s turn out to be verbal abuse.
where yelling and fighting is called family.
where emotions are scarcly shown and sadness needs a drug.
where stealing and law-breaking are everyday commutes. w
here technology has overcome us.
where we always need something, better, newer, or more improved.
where we no longer talk in person.
when your own thoughts are pushed out by the thoughts of others.
where stereotyping happens all the time.
where death only brings an \"oh thats too bad\" or a shrug.
where we are prone to judge, and choose those who we hang out with.
where everyone sticks with their own groups. w
here if you are not dressed to your classmates liking you are ignored.
where all the teenage girls pack on makeup like its the last time they\'ll ever do it.
where protesting is against the law and where people get away with murder.
where trends are always followed and eating disorders are common.
where we all look the same walking down the street.
where both parents work and family time is not spent.
where respect has gone and elders are not cared about.
where everybody wants to be the same,
yet everyone wants to be different.
