Noms Noir

by Derek Walden   Jan 21, 2007

Tear down my paper armor
I've built steel walls around me
Bled heart dry before born
Wrap your thorns around my head
Crown of hatred wreathes my death
Watching the darkness
Waiting for life
I saw death flit through the window
Seconds slip by as forever calls eternity to a halt
If the eyes are the gateway to the soul
My eyes lead to hell
Wrap your thorns around my head
Crown of hatred wreathes my death
Watching the darkness
Waiting for life
You play your own violin quite well
Weeping children
Dressed in black
Wrap your thorns around my head
Crown of hatred wreathes my death
Watching the darkness
Waiting for life
Yet when you approached the room turned so very... (bleak)
Come cross into the shadows with me my darkling
Scarlet skies are back again
No light to kill your forsaken friend
Wrap your thorns around my head
Crown of hatred wreathes my death
Watching the darkness
Waiting for life
The trees draw rotting crimson deaths
An abrupt doom from silence
Poison is the language of the dirt
Speak in venom
Speak black words
Wrap your thorns around my head
Crown of hatred wreathes my death
Watching the darkness
Waiting for life
Tear back open
Wounds that never bled
I hide my consolation
But the darkness is the only mirror I'll ever need...
