Curse

by Iain Bennett   Jan 23, 2007

A curse has swept the country,
A plague of desperation,
As each on looking witness,
Views a sinking nation.

Evil waiting in the streets,
When the city is the night,
No one is ready for attack,
In non-existent light.

They never saw it coming,
But once it took their soul,
They lost their empathy,
And their hearts turned cold.

And now the disease is spreading,
The virus is at work,
And slowly the loving humans,
Look back at the devil smirk.

The dark and hopeless future,
Is an ongoing threat.
But thereâ??s no coming war.
These humans will regret.

And as the evil sweeps,
Through every personâ??s heart,
The dominion of Satan,
Has strongly marked its start.

They never saw it coming,
But once it took their soul,
They lost their empathy,
And their hearts turned cold.

And now the disease is spreading,
The virus is at work,
And slowly the loving humans,
Look back at the devil smirk.

A piercing despair scrapes the nerves,
Of those who remain good,
As the nationâ??s smashed apart,
They do not do what they should.

They let the sinners rule,
They watch them all dictate,
They say to use their power,
To change the countryâ??s state.

They never saw it coming,
But once it took their soul,
They lost their empathy,
And their hearts turned cold.

And now the disease is spreading,
The virus is at work,
And slowly the loving humans,
Look back at the devil smirk.

What hope surrounds the cities?
What love floats in the towns?
What future lies for the village?
Watch our lives slowly drown.

And why do we lie back?
Why do we take it all?
Whatâ??s with this free speech?
That will make us fall.

They never saw it coming,
But once it took their soul,
They lost their empathy,
And their hearts turned cold.

And now the disease is spreading,
The virus is at work,
And slowly the loving humans,
Look back at the devil smirk.
