Sorry

by Iain Bennett   Jan 20, 2007

I'm sorry for the things I said,
And for the things I never did.
I'm sorry for the wrong I've made,
And for acting like a kid.

I'm sorry that I never tried,
And for giving up on hope.
I'm sorry for when I should have tried,
And sorry I can't cope.

I'm sorry that you can't trust me,
And sorry for hurting you.
I'm sorry I'm not what I wanted to be,
This apology’s long overdue.

I'm sorry it's not what it was,
I'm sorry I screwed it up.
I'm sorry I had to be the cause,
And I'm sorry it wasn't enough.

I'm sorry I can't take it back,
And sorry there’s nothing I can do.
I'm sorry for everything I lack,
So sorry it's all true.
