Guardian Angel

by Shelby   Jan 24, 2007

Once when I was young
I met this angel
The words of others had
stung my young heart
and this angel
helped me through.

Always there to direct me
to keep me from harm
yet he himself suffered
with scars now on his arms.

Still here to hold me
and teach me right from wrong
So why did he not listen
to the lesson in his own song.

Stabbed and Broken
his life was tortured
My innocence was his token
to a life he never had.

Cuts, Scrapes and Bruises
Alcohol and Drugs
were the things he abuses
Kneeling in the floor
Puking on rugs

He surrendered
on a cold December night
My life was more important
So he gave up his fight

My guardian angel
was touched by my love
My guardian angel
was sent from above
For me to help.
