Fate

by Shelby   May 30, 2007

March 10th was a disaster
It shook his very being
The car traveled faster
He hit the tree without breathing

He tried to get her
Reached for the air
He never knew
She wasn't there

She pushed her way through,
An uncontrolled stare,
A stinging smack,
People held her back

Weeks later and the bones healed
He lost his pride
His fate was sealed
New drugs he tried

Where he lies
Shaking
No one knows
She cries
Shivering
Dodging emotional blows

Far away in the dark
Shes saw the light
Of fire spark

Her passion for him weakened
Her hatred grew
He didn't have
A freakin' clue

He wasn't there
He left her alone
Life's unfair
He couldn't even pick up the phone

Month later and he held back
from telling her
Exactly what she lacked

The drugs didn't help him
it pushed her away
He realized she was gone
And chose not to stay

What made him quit
Was that one girl
She gave all she could
To be his world

Love at first sight, maybe fate
Why did that girl stay
And wait?

She was pushed in the back
Of his mind
Put away for awhile
But easy to find

No love notes
No kisses
Doesn't matter
It's him
She misses

He got better and came for the girl
He did if for her
He did it for his world

He changed his future
And hers too
She loved the boy
What could she do?

She gave him a chance
Just one more
To prove to her
He wouldn't get like before

So fat the boy
Has done just great
She's still skeptical
But believes in fate.

She's happy now
More than before
She smiles wide
As he walks in her door.
