Today I Woke Up

by Truest Lies   Jan 26, 2007

Remember the rain,
How I fussed with my hair.
I wanted it all to be perfect.
Remember when you laughed,
The first smile I had seen.

I imagined the way that you would
Hold me. I imagined that you almost
Cared.

There's nothing to remember
And I will hold my peace,
Though you will never know
How much this quiet hurts me.

One day you will see,
Perhaps you will laugh,
Because yes,
I've been foolish, childish.
I've been dreaming

And today I woke up.
