Come Clean

COME CLEAN

The truth lies between my limp fingers,
I promised I would leave you a note.
In your heart my memory lingers,
Though crimson ran thick from my throat.

I wish I could have said goodbye sweetly,
By blood and bone, understand what I mean.
This will never suffice to our meeting,
But this is the only way I can truly come clean.

Through gore I send you this message,
Read only when your shaking hands still.
By priests we pretend to be blessed,
But your real gift to me was good will.

Be my best friend, distant brother, forever,
Although death parts us now, friends we remain.
Let never, not one you love more than me, sever
The truth that was marked with bloodstain.
