Like You

by Jeremy B   Feb 3, 2007

Hello God, are You there?
Right now Your appearance seems rare.
The way things are going almost seems like You don't care.
The things I'm dealing with don't seem fair.

Please Lord, help me in this fight,
Please teach me to do right.
To teach me to walk in light,
And not to follow in the night.

In my life I've made many wrong turns,
I've suffered many burns,
Lost all than I did earn,
And from that I want to learn.

But I still make mistake after dreadful mistake,
And a life like this I can no longer take.
I wish I could have been with You on that lake
To walk out on water and Your hand to take.

I can't go back in time,
But please walk wit me on this narrow line.
Guide me from sins, Satan's crime
And teach me to be loving, gentle, and kind.

Teach me respect for what happened on the cross,
For our behalf all You lost
To keep Your people from being eternally lost,
And from having hearts of only frost.

Teach me to be more like You,
To know what to do,
And how to get through.
Teach me to be more like You.
