~ AN EPICEDIUM ~

Did you not heed to sink or swim
An axiom, which bears such grim
Countenance, upon your bleak & now sodden day,
For you no remorse, the cards, you did play.
Yea, as deep wrenching came from visceral gut,
The door to homeostatic bliss, gently shut.
Looking back, the platform, for you no love it bore,
Yet we can but sit and wonder, "Why? What for?".
Ah, poor fool, I pity thee,
You breathed your last, I held your paw, this life's not free.
There is nothing left on which to hold,
Your eyes once lambent, grow so cold.
So reverently your body, to the chute,
My friend, my N, farewell...
