She needs it to go on (about anorexia)

by AnorexicDream   Feb 6, 2007

She wasn't born this way
She gets worst each day
Down her throat she sticks her fingers
Again and again until the food no longer lingers
Next day she says no to food
Telling them all she isn't in the mood
She listens to the anorexia songs
She needs it to go on

As she runs faster and faster
On anorexia she becomes a master
She eats less and less
Inside she is a mess
She says that Ana is testing her
She says Ana is her master
She lies to her mom
She needs it to go on

She stays up late crying about life
Cutting her wrist with that dull knife
Screaming and crying
Inside dreaming of dying
Hoping never to wake up again
Praying to God that this is the end
She stays up until dawn
She needs it to go on

You would never know, too
Exactly what this girl goes through
Everyday waking up to screaming
Hearing words that are so demeaning
Wondering if you will get hit that night
Hoping you will disappear from sight
Ana is her only friend, mom
She needs it to go on

This brings up scars for me ay. I could relate to this poem in a way because Ive on purposely skipped meals, gone days without eating and tryed to make myself throw up a couple times. I realised it was so wrong and in the end you only cause more pain for yourself. I hope u are no longer battling anorexia. Always stay strong and never give up.
