Secretly want to be that one

by Amy Jo   Feb 6, 2007

His dark brown hair is untidy
and those hazel eyes see through me.
Dark colored jeans on
with a t-shirt done all wrong.

He has a special hat on his head,
and the blankets are never made on his bed.
Stay out real late,
just to get up early and be late.

This boy is clumsier than me,
and won't leave me be.
He's a sucker for romance,
and he has no clue how to dance.

He makes me laugh like crazy,
but doesn't bring me daisies.
I sit so close, but feel so far from him.
I think he's being a little dim,

because he hasn't realized,
that it's me looking into his eyes.
And I secretly want to be there,
and me to be the one to care about.

He drives a little crazy now and then,
and he can't recall all of where he's been.
He's young and naive,
Some things, you just can't believe.

Oh, I wish life wasn't so complicated.
And that we could have dated.
But were like two opposites,
and together we just don't fit.

His hair is still untidy,
I wish he would call me.
