Where You Are

by Lyndsay Kalyta   Feb 7, 2007

Countless failed attempts
Trying to uncover the truth
Pulling with all my strength
But only ripping out roots

Brokeness surrounds me
Engulfing what is right
Trying hard to sense it
By mustering up my might

Gathering in the gallows
Suffering much too hard
Searching but not succeeding
To find out where you are

Touching only tenses
This damaged heart of mine
Polish it to perfection
But you will not see it shine

Releasing ruthless feelings
In wet drops of pain
Lost in all loneliness
Struggling to keep sane

I am so close to being clean
But everything else is far
Even if I find you
How will I know where you are
