A Peaceful Place

by ashley   Feb 7, 2007

It takes a six-hour drive,
Through hills
Across rivers
And four states
All to see
The Great Smokey Mountains of Tennessee
Where I've been going just about every summer
Since I can remember
One of the most beautiful places I've seen
With its huge mountains
And not so small foothills
With large rivers
And small streams
It is a peaceful place to be
Very spiritual,
A place to heal
And to relax
And experience the simple side of life
At times it is even mystical
A place of things like
Sweet tea,
And y'all come back now
Of southern hospitality
Where people actually say please and thank you
It is a place that I love to be
In the mountains of Tennessee.
