Summertime

by ashley   Feb 7, 2007

Long hot days
Spent in the shade
Lemonade and cookouts
The county fair and fishing
Dirt track racing and fun,
Summertime.

The smell of dust and gasoline on a Saturday night
At the track makes the perfect end to the week
The roar of the crowd and the cars as they pass
The adrenaline rush as your friend takes the lead
Running onto the track to the winners circle
After the win
To celebrate with a friend,
Summertime.

The sound of screaming children on all the rides
The smell of corn dogs and the fish fry
Many exhibits and animals to see
Catching up with friends
Riding the Ferris wheel
Looking down on the fair
Summertime.

Family and Friends
Gathering around the fire pit
The smell of hot dogs and marshmallows
The taste of s'mores
The sound of the fire popping
Playing croquet and baseball
Cookouts that last late into the night
Summertime.

This is pretty. I'm wishing it was summer now.
