Cold, solid, freezing me.
Covering his eyes, penetrating into me.
He fixes me in an icy stare.
He looks into my mind, I'm away.
I feel his gaze resting on my face.
I shiver, trying to warm the space.
A mask covers the rest of he,
Those cold eyes are all I see.
But I know I'm safe, as long as he's here,
I know I needn't shed a tear.
He'll fight off all my demons,
He'll fight off all my problems.
A bow and arrow at his side,
He pulls me in, helping me bide.
Well, I find myself falling in love,
I find myself feeling life's shove.
His icy blue eyes penetrate through evil,
His constant protection makes me feel.
Ice, freezing over tears.
He tells me he'll only live a few years.
I see his sorrow buried beneath the ice.
I wish he didn't have to pay the price.
He says he achieved his purpose, here
And now it's time for him to disappear.
He says, "Don't cry for me, my time's come"
He promises me I'll see no harm.
His mask is pulled off,
What I see gives me shock.
A scar, sliced across his cheek.
His eyes fill with tears, he feels weak.
Tells me the mask is worn to cover the scar,
He says in his past, he went too far.
Caused and innocent man's death.
He covers his face, sorry in a depth.
I simply stare, shocked at what I hear,
My veins are filled with fear.
Ice, killing people, how was it done?
Did this man's life end just for fun?
He looks back up, his eyes swampy.
I can almost hear my heartbeat.
The ice in his eyes has melted away,
It's falling down his cheeks and making a stain.
I cannot watch his pain,
The ice in his eyes was from frozen sorrow, not disdain.
I embrace him, letting my feelings be known
I tell him he'll never be alone.
He pulls away, the tears are freezing.
He stands up, and begins leaving.
I call out to him, he turns around.
His face is back in a frown.
The mask is back on, his eyes frozen over.
I tell him the path may have narrowed,
But it is still walkable.
He shakes his head, his anger doubled.
He apologizes, saying he must reprise.
I wish his eyes had never turned to ice.
