Poem opposites: Truth/Lies

by Natalie Reget   Feb 10, 2007

Truths are pulling us together,
When someone asks for a lie we say never.
We push all lies away.
Truths make us want to stay.
They make us want to be free,
But they trap those who disagree.
Truths make the world a better place,
The emptiness, and open space.

Lies are pulling us apart,
We weren't together from the start.
We start to mix up truths and lies.
We mix up laughter with cries.
We lock up happiness with bars of hate.
We trap laughter with a metal gate.
We tell people we love them,
When deep down, we despise them
