Fighting for life

by Flying Phoenix   Feb 13, 2007

Epiphany of light
Captures the gloom
Straddles the life
Straight from a tomb
Cold, heartless
Written off by fear
Shivering ghosts
Of what once held near
Stumbling off into
The harsh stark night
Weeping still
Overcome by fright
Kissed by a memory
Strode into death
Rode a skeleton horse
With near nothing left
Tried to be calm
But broke down in despair
Lost in the wilderness
Not a soul could care
Reached for a wisp
A glimmer of hope
Smiled weakly to the world
The only way we can cope
