Lonely

by ann burke   Feb 14, 2007

There is a old man so lonely
His pain is plain to see
The hurt is etched across his face
In a million tiny lines
No words could ever tell
The sorrow he feels inside

This man has lost his soul mate
His wife of many years
All the dreams and plans
They shared have faded in his tears
O how sad he looks
You can see it in his eyes
As he sits at the window
And watches the world go by

Now he just keeps hoping
That he has not long to wait
Until once again he is by her side
