Shadows of Her Doubts

by Natasha   Feb 18, 2007

The pieces of glass lay shattered on the floor,
as the once beautiful girl sat crying against the door.
The voices whispered her insecurities as she tried to block them out,
while she closed her eyes to the shadows of her doubts.

A scream escaped her throat as she wiped the black rimming her eyes,
and she prayed to an unknown god with her bitter goodbyes.
Moonlight shone through the windows, illuminating the disaster,
the girl's heart rate increased as it began to beat faster.

Her cuts and bruises ached with pain,
as she tried to convince herself her actions were sane.
Tremors ran up and down her spine,
she was merely a victim of her own mind.
