Soulless, Dreamless, Mindless

by Natasha   Aug 16, 2007

I will steal the stars from your eyes,
capturing them, so no one may see your soul.
Your light will fade, burn, dwindle,
but subconsciously, you shall pay no mind.

I will haunt your dreams, shadowing your beliefs,
pushing you to slip into a weak frame of mind.
You will whimper in silent, frightened protest,
and my gentle reassurances will diminish your doubts.

Your waking hours shall be filled with nothing but memories,
of your failures and of my words.
You will know of nothing but me, plaguing your every thought,
and you shall try unsuccessfully to piece together my lies.

Slowly but surely, you will lose your mind,
as I take from you your soul and sanity.
When I depart, I will set our tainted hearts on fire,
and forever, you shall bask in nothingness.

Very, very dark. Well written and I can feel a deep story behind it. I would have loved to read more of your work. Great read, thank you.
