Breathe Today

by Twisted Heart   Feb 19, 2007

Was it a breath of sadness
That tore within your heart
I simple little stutter
That ripped your soul apart

Was it anger fleeting
Across your fainting breath
That sent your senses reeling
Before it came to rest.

Was but a breath be taken
By your mind entwined with pain
Among the broken heartaches
That cried against the rain.

Was only trouble tended
within the hope that died
No chance of finding answers
to the questions in your mind.

Did empty words caress your lips
Upon the tattered moon
Forever lost inside yourself
And ending all too soon.

Or was it just a notion sent
To your soul that frayed
A recollection of a thought
"Just to breathe today".
