True Love Dies

by cowgirlstar26   Feb 19, 2007

She walked along the shadows
full of brokenness and dispare
no one could see her
they only helplessly stared

among ashes and tears
she carried along her burden
every lie and mistake
her heavy wings had fallen

a fallen angel
so lost and alone
forsaken by so many
cursed forever with a heart of stone

her gown was tattered
her once white wings were black
no one even bothered
they didn't want to ask

she lingered among the people
hoping to be rescued
then she met him....
his gaze , so loving and true

little by little
the beauty had returned
her eyes became so blue
people looked finally so concerned

her wings became light
the feathers grew back once more
her skin from dead pale
was bronze and no longer torn

her scars had healed
her heart mended
no one could recognize
this beautiful creature from heaven

but this did;t last long
for the angel grew restless
she longed for the one
who's love had been so blessed

she turned to him
the one who had saved her
he began to explain
of the things she didn't deserve

suddenly he vanished
he was found dying
no one knew exactly why
but soon she'd be the last one standing...

the angel went into rage
she flew to the sky
she found the highest mountain
there she simply cried

soon she grew very pale
her eyes turned dull and Grey
her wings were black
there she lingered and stayed

she left her heart there
in a stone box beneath a tree
there she'd make sure
no one ever would find the key

so she went on living
but she did;t really survive
for not another soul found her heart
this is proof that true love dies.
