Senses

I see the flashing lights in the distance
I know their rushing to give assistance
The curiosity consumes me
I wondered who it was... And then I see

I hear the muffled sounds of the sirens
Their moving fast and making their way through the dozens
Of people standing around
Staring at the girl on the ground

I reach down and touch all the blood
It keeps on flowing like a flash flood
Their putting gauze on to make it stop
But it keeps bleeding through the top.

I taste the sweat dripping down my face
I just keep watching everything and embrace
What going on
Then in a moment it's all gone.

I can smell the death as we enter the emergency room
My eyes close but I know they resume
To help the girl on the bed
Even though she's flat lined, she's dead.

I see the flashing lights in the distance
I know their rushing to give assistance
The curiosity consumes me
I wondered who it was... And then I see
It's me.
