Given

by Chris Jackson   Feb 22, 2007

I have given you the warmth of my smile when my cheeks are tired,
The twinkle in my eye when I’m not in the mood,
The lingering look I give when my eyes just want to close,
Reassurance when I have no idea what's next,
Self-motivation when I can't explain why you are you,
My ear to talk to endlessly when I know you don't care whose ear it is.

I gave you the goodness in my heart even when I know the difference you can't see,
My voice full of pain in the hope you see past the smile,
My wisdom for troubles that I make important to know,
The love of my arms around you when it's too hard for you to stand alone.

I ignore all the neglect your friendship brings,
I make myself feel alive by filling the holes you have left,
But when the darkness begins and my eyes grow tired,
When my body shuts down and my mind starts to spin,
The only thing I ever ask myself,
The only thing I ever want to know,
Is the one question I’m sure you'll never ask yourself,
What have you ever given me?

Really great! I think all us us have been in love with someone like this at one time or another and I'll admit that with out even seeing it I've done it to others once or twice
