Drones

by resisting reason   Feb 25, 2007

I break away for the herd
venture out on my own
separate from you sick, mindless drones
I'd rather be alone
than follow the predesignated plan
let me show you a real man
who can stand
with no assistance from others
I'm so tired of feeling smothered
I'm tired of going with the flow
but now my eyes are open
I'm going to make the truth known
"you are all sheep.
mindless and weak.
you fear shadows
and believe everything you see
so see me now
heed my words
i once was a member of the herd
until i questioned my self-worth
i once was a drone
until i realized i was alone
following the flock
doing as told
fitting perfectly into the human mold
until something happened, something snapped
I broke down and fell
hit rock bottom and dug my way to hell
there i found truth, anger, and pride.
i saw the everyone must one day die.
and i was scared,
my heart filled with terror and despair
then i opened my eyes and realized
the purpose of life is to die
