Shadows In The Night (acrostic)

by Afraid of the Dark   Feb 27, 2007

Shandows are moving, where no-one should be,
Hearing a movement that cannot be seen,
A slamming of woodwork, where there is no door
Do not be frightened these things do no more,
Other than frighten with movements at night,
When you are blinded through lack of sunlight,
So don't you be scared of the shadows at night.

Into the darkness, they will now creep.
Near by your bed when you are asleep.

Total pitch darkness lures them nearby,
Heavenly lightness will shoo them, bye bye.
Even though they make you feel you will die.

Never loose faith, in the midst of the night,
Ignite a match, and they'll flee from the light,
Going to where the shadows can be seen,
However never forget, don't you dare scream,
The shadows exist, only where light has been.

Wow. This poem took my breath away.

I love the flow and the not-forced-at-all rhyming.

This poem really crawls under ones skin. Very creepy and dark.
