Little Princess

by Sakura   Feb 27, 2007

She hangs her head, shame on her face
She never meant this to happen, she is a disgrace
Her shoes are all her tear flooded eyes see
She knows this wasn't how it was meant to be
She wishes she had held her tongue
Forgotten the boy to whom she had clung

Nobody could to save her now
It was more than she would allow
Few would see her tear-stained face and feel pity
She had learnt there was more than being rich and pretty

Always Daddy's little princess, the real world was such a shock
Her childhood dreams of love were over, it was such a knock
He had not wanted her, she wanted him
She always got what she wanted, now life was grim
She hated herself, she had not meant harm
She was maintaining no sense of inner-calm

She had been humiliated, she wanted him to hurt
Nothing more, she wanted him to feel like dirt
She had only meant to push him lightly
She had only wanted him to stumble slightly
She had not noticed the stairs
His body was a mixture of bruises and tears

The phone had sounded so loud in her ears
She placed the receiver back, her eyes leaking tears

She had not wanted this, any of it
She gazed around the room the light bulb barely lit
She could only smell the smoke of cigars
She could only see the shadow of bars
