Just another night

by Heather   Feb 27, 2007

He smiles when I brush my teeth,
and battle with my hair.
He giggles when I lose my temper,
when I can't find my shoes.

He claps his hands in unison with my steps,
and tries to match the beat for beat.
He jumps up and down when I read to him,
especially his favorite book.

He climbs on my lap after dinner,
and begs for just one more book.
He say, "please sissy",
and puts on his best I LOVE YOU look.

At bed time he whines a little,
then follows me up the stairs.
When I pass him off to mommy he smiles at me,
then he climbs to the floor and embraces my knees.

One kiss good night then I head to my room,
I smile as I hear him call out, "Nite-nite sissy".
Just an average night I think to myself,
But I continue to smile as I climb into bed and turn out the light...
After just another night.
